Spiritual Formation

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness...”

2 Timothy 3:16

Spiritual Formation Small Groups

Find Freedom

God’s Word is a living, breathing document that we cherish.  We desire to know what God says in His Word and how it impacts our lives.  Through gathering in a small group, we learn together through study, dialogue, spiritual rhythms, relationship and experience.  Ultimately, our desire is to grow in our relationship with Jesus and others!

Bible and Book Studies, Prayer Groups

At the Table Prayer

We meet every morning of the week to bring our prayer requests before the Lord. We pray for one another as well as anyone in the congregation who is in need. We spend precious time each week praying for the prodigals in the church as well. Each morning, we walk through the previous day in the Bible Project Reading Plan and share our insights.  You are welcome to join us one day a week or all seven! Anyone is welcome to join us at God's table! Send an email to Glenn for the Zoom Link if you would like to join us.

We are starting a new study on the Book of Isaiah. It will likely be a two-year study with a summer break. The study will include a historical setting as we discover the Isaiah’s world and time. We hope to cover one chapter a week with some leeway. It is a fascinating account of God’s chosen people, the struggles of the times, and the future hope for the nations. The first four weeks, are introduction of the book and study notes will be handed out, so anyone can easily catch up if you join after the beginning of the season. We begin with worship and the lesson and then finish our time with lunch and praying for one another’s needs. Pack your own lunch and join us - all ages are welcome!

Grasping God's Word
Mondays,  7-9 PM
ZOOM and in person - Fountain Valley
While Paul commanded all of us to “accurately handle the word of truth,” he did not give us instructions on how to do this. So, 2,000 years later, let’s get at it with the help of Duvall‘s book "Grasping God’s Word." We are meeting in the safe, interactive setting this small group is known to have. Who are we? Eclectic and caring enough to challenge each other to grow. Join us, there is always room for one more! (Currently Meeting in Person in Fountain Valley and always happy to utilize Zoom for those that cannot meet with us in person.)

How to Read the Bible for All Its Worth
Thursdays, 7 PM

Zoom
This is a starter video series that helps you understand the Bible and its unique design and literary devices. While the Bible is one unified story, it cannot all be read in the same way. The How to Read the Bible series walks through each literary style found in the Bible and explains how each uniquely contributes to the overall story of Scripture. By understanding how the Bible was written, we can better understand what the Bible actually is.  By the end of this series, you will be familiar with every part of the Bible and how it uses language to communicate who God is, who we are, and the big, redemptive story that we are all living.

Ephesians 4:12…Equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ. This is a Spirit led group of believers who come together for a night of prayer to worship Jesus in Spirit and in truth. This group gives people the opportunity to go beyond just knowing about God, to a place of actually knowing God on a personal and experiential level.  Anyone who is hungry and wants to go deeper in their walk, and encounter the Person of the Holy Spirit should consider attending.   We believe in the body functioning as it was intended, so we encourage people to step out in faith by exercising various spiritual gifts including praying in tongues.  We encourage the building up of the body through the practice of sharing words of knowledge, words of prophecy, gifts of healing as well as prayer for impartation of spiritual gifts.  This group is for believers who are new to these spiritual gifts as well as those who have been walking in these gifts for many years.
