Freedom in the Spirit
Feb 9, 2025 • Rick Francis
In Romans 8:1-17, Paul moves from the tension of the internal struggle between sin and righteousness in Romans 7 to a place of powerful assurance for the believer. This passage presents the believer’s new identity in Christ, where there is no condemnation for those in Him. As believers, we now walk in the Spirit, not the flesh, empowered to live according to God's will. This week, we'll explore the freedom that comes through the work of the Holy Spirit, how that Spirit arms our adoption as God's children, and what it means to live with a mindset focused on life and peace. Understanding these truths is crucial for moving beyond guilt and shame, stepping fully into the transformative power of Christ's work.
