The Hope Of Heaven

What does the hope of heaven change about the way we live today?

We continue our sermon series The Gospel of John: What Does He Really Offer? with John 14:1–14, where Jesus comforts His disciples with a promise: there is a place prepared for them, and He is the way to the Father.

Jesus says in John 14:6, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

The hope of heaven isn’t meant to make us less present on earth—it frees us to live more faithfully here. When we know where we belong and trust the One who knows the way, we don’t have to see the entire route before taking the next step.

Question of the Day:
If Jesus answered every prayer I prayed this week, whose kingdom would get bigger—His or mine?

Bottom Line:
The hope of heaven frees us to live faithfully on earth.
